El violoncelista Chris Grist fundó London Concertante en 1991 con músicos de la Guildhall School of Music, de la Royal Academy of London y del Royal College of Music. London Concertante ha insuflado nueva vida en el panorama musical inglés, con sus conciertos dinámicos y alegres, convirtiéndose en una de las mejores y más reputadas orquestas de cámara de Inglaterra.

Son regularmente incluidos tanto en las series de conciertos de St.Martin-in-the-Fields, South Bank, Purcell Room, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Barbican Hall o St.John’s Smith Square, como en la programación de las Sociedades de Música y Ópera de todo el país. Bajo la dinámica dirección del violinista Adam Summerhayes, la orquesta da más de 80 conciertos al año y desarrolla además un proyecto educativo para niños en distintos talleres musicales por todo el país.

Sus CDs son asiduamente emitidos en Classic FM y en la BBC Radio, al igual que sus conciertos.
