Los guitarristas húngaros Peter y Zoltan Katona han dado recitales por todo el mundo, destacando principalmente los de lugares tan significativos como el Carnegie Hall de Nueva York, Purcell Room y Wigmore Hall de Londres, Bridgewater Hall de Mánchester, Alte Oper de Frankfurt, Philharmonie de Colonia, Concertgebouw de Amsterdam, Konzerthaus de Viena, Suntory Hall de Tokio, la Ciudad Prohibida de Pekín, el Auditorio Alfredo Kraus de Las Palmas o el Palau de la Música de Valencia.

Desde los diez años estudiaron individualmente y como dúo en Budapest, Frankfurt y la Royal Academy of Music de Londres. Durante sus estudios recibieron clases asiduamente de maestros de la guitarra como Julian Bream y John Williams.

Los hermanos Katona han ganado numerosos concursos. En 1998 el Concert Artists Guild de Nueva York, lo que proyectó su carrera en los Estados Unidos, pues les aseguró frecuentes giras por el país, así como su debut en el Carnegie Hall. En 1997 el Young Concert Artists Trust de Londres. Previamente habían ganado el premio S. T. Johnson Foundation en 1995 y el Laura Ashley en 1996. En 1993 fueron también primer premio en el concurso de Montelimar (Francia). En el mismo año se les otorgó el Premio Cultural de la Ciudad de Kassel, en Alemania.

El amplio repertorio del dúo va desde Scarlatti a Piazzolla. Sus programas también incluyen conciertos con orquesta como los de Rodrigo, Vivaldi y Tedesco. Compositores como Michael Berkeley, Judith Bingham o Carlos Sánchez-Gutiérrez les han escrito y dedicado obras.

Los Katona Twins han sido requeridos con frecuencia para grabaciones de la BBC y otras cadenas internacionales de radio y televisión. Sus seis CD para el sello holandés Channel Classics incluyen música de Scarlatti y Händel, Rodrigo, Albéniz, Piazzolla, Granados, de Falla, Vivaldi y Mozart.
