London Concertante celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2001, having become one of the finest chamber orchestras in England. Under the dynamic new leadership of virtuoso violinist, Adam Summerhayes ("to die for" The Strad), the orchestra now gives more than 80 concerts a year, making it also one of the busiest chamber orchestras in the UK.

As well as a regular series of concerts at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, they perform throughout the UK for music clubs and festivals, also making appearances at some of the country's major concert halls including the Barbican, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and St. John's Smith Square.

London concertante enjoy long-standing relationships with many choral societies and opera companies. Along with their regular series of orchestral concerts, they tour regularly with Palace Opera (including 2 weeks at the 2002 Edinburgh Festival) and Pegasus Opera; they play regularly for choral societies throughout the UK. Their CDs have been broadcast on both BBC Radio and Classic FM.

REVIEWS

"played with silky-toned elegance....extraordinary unanimity. The London Concertante members, fine chamber musicians that they are, played with an uncanny clarity of texture...exquisite."
The Strad

“This is superb chamber playing"
The Scotsman

"Quality musicians...excellent...pursuing each new pulse with the unanimity of a shoal of fish. They play with tone as soft as velvet, bow strokes that really sing and a Romanticist's wide volume range”
Evening Standard

"The London Concertante was a pleasure to listen to. There was snap to the rhythm, lively wind sound a warmth and enjoyment to the playing"
The Stage

“sheen and panache…fresh, piquant sound. Great music, played neat”
